Faces filled with sorrow, futures hanging, hopes lost, and a chance to rewrite their stories one child at a time. Orphans in Cameroon go through a lot of difficulties. They are exposed to all types of dangers like child trafficking, drug abuse, prostitution, and domestic violence. Orphans in Cameroon go through numerous challenges that hinder their development and well-being.

Access to quality education is a major challenge, lack of awareness about the value of education as a great man once said ‘Education is most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’ and financial constraints often prevent orphans from going to school. Also, orphans are at a high risk of malnutrition, diseases and lack of proper care. Without parental care, they often fall prey to uncaring individuals who take advantage of their situations. These challenges are caused by the ongoing crisis in some regions in Cameroon which has displaced thousands of families and created an even more unsafe environment for orphans.

These often cause them to take up minor jobs in order to survive. Looking at the growing amount of orphans in Buea, orphanages are unable to contain all of these orphans. Living some of them homeless and hopeless this makes them venture into drug abuse, prostitution, and theft just to earn a living. Some become vulnerable to domestic violence.
It’s with these that several organization make it their sole mission to help these orphans academically, economically, mentally or financially.

They do this by opening orphanages, making donations and giving out scholarships to already existing orphanages. The Berine and Bokwe Foundation [BEBOF] is not left out; it brings hope and smiles to the faces of abandoned orphans and empowers them for life ahead .The population can join BEBOF in its vision and make it their responsibility to assist these orphans.
