Ministry of women empowerment and the Family Press Release on Gender based violence

In a powerful move of transparency and commitment to justice, the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family of Cameroon has issued a press release that addresses grave allegations of harassment, confinement, threats, and assault by a named individual in Douala. The shocking revelations include the perpetrator’s malicious spread of HIV-AIDS among women and children, particularly young boys.

The Berine and Bokwe Foundation, steadfast in its mission to support women and children who have faced gender-based violence, strongly denounces these heinous acts. We stand in solidarity with the survivors who have bravely come forward to bring these accusations to light. Their courage paves the way for justice and the prevention of further atrocities.

We applaud the Ministry’s prompt response to these allegations and its support for the complainants and their families. By ensuring access to counseling and psychosocial support services, the Ministry is taking necessary steps to heal the wounds inflicted not just on individuals, but on our society.

The Foundation echoes the Ministry’s call for all victims to break the silence and seeks to assist in this endeavor by offering legal aid to those affected. We understand the complex web of fear and intimidation that can prevent survivors from speaking out. Thus, we commit to providing a supportive environment for victims to share their stories and seek justice.

Furthermore, we commend the Ministry’s determination to combat gender-based violence. We pledge our support to the Ministry’s initiatives and commit to working alongside them to strengthen the mechanisms that protect our women and children.

To those who have suffered, know that you are not alone. Berine and Bokwe Foundation, alongside the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, is with you. Together, we will fight to ensure that such egregious violations of human rights are not only prosecuted but also eradicated from our society.

For anyone seeking legal aid or support, we urge you to reach out to us. Your voice matters, your story matters, and together, we can bring about change.
